Finn

Hi My name is Finn. I turned six years old on April 9th and I have lived in Eastham for a little over two years. I was born in Rhode Island, but my owner got sick and couldn’t take care of me any more. Fortunately she gave me up for adoption to Cairn Rescue USA because she knew that they would find a good home for me. I lived in foster care in Stoneham, MA with my foster mom Liz for three months, all the while waiting for someone to read about me on the CRUSA website and take me to a permanent home. That finally happened when my moms adopted me in February 2009. I am the fourth Cairn Terrier they’ve had but I am the most challenging so far!

My bio on CRUSA said that I pay no attention to birds or squirrels or chipmunks, but my moms think that I’d never seen a bird, squirrel or chipmunk before coming to Eastham. I love to chase anything that moves but somehow I never get close enough to catch them. My new favorite thing is to chase waves at the beach, and the bigger the waves, the more fun I have.

I am very food motivated and this has helped me learn the basic sit, stay, wait, down and shake commands. However, I still think I deserve a treat any time I do one of those things. I also know the words “walk” and “ride.” When I go to daycare at Nauset Pet Services, we call it “camp” and when I stay overnight there, we call it the “Holidog Inn.” Both of these words make me shake with excitement.

My favorite doggie friend at daycare is Paddy. Every little dog like me needs a big friend like Paddy, and we have a lot of fun together. I also love Charlie, my new friend Scout, my girlfriend Piper who I met while my moms were in Italy, and lots of other friends. Nothing makes me happier than a day at Nauset Pet Services with my doggie and human friends!
